Lassen Volcanic National Park
Because of the many twisties Lassen Volcanic National Park is especially interesting to motorcyclists, even though the speed limit is very low. But we wanted to enjoy the views and not just speed past them. Lassen Volcanic National Park
Bumpass Hell
Bumpass Hell in  Lassen is like a small Yellowstone with Gysirs and boiling mud ponds. It is a little hidden in a valley and to reach it one has to hike for about 45 minutes from the parking lot. Bumpass Hell
Lake Tahoe
Lake Tahoe would actually be a very beautiful lake, but since its banks are totally covered with huge villas it is nearly impossible to see the lake, let alone get to it. It nearly is a private lake for millionairs, nothing for us. Lake Tahoe
El Dorado Natinal Forest
The El Dorado Natinal Forest is a beautiful ride and offers even more beautiful views. And all of that at close to zero traffic. El Dorado Natinal Forest
Highland house
We visited Gail and Russell Lee (worldtrippers.com) at their self built 'Hill Top House' near Jackson, CA. They had visited us in Germany in 2002 on their trip around the world, and I had visited them at the house/construction site in 2005. Highland House
trip planning
We stayed 3 days with the Lee's and also used our time there to plan the rest of our trip as well as to do some maintenance on the bikes. motorcycle maintenance
Highland House
The driveway to the 'Hill Top House' is a nearly one mile long, steep gravel road, which Jayne called the "Highland House Off-Road Adventure™". She has not much experience with gravel yet and was not happy about the driveway. Highland House Off-Road Adventure™
