City of Rocks, Idaho
After a long day of riding in the heat a cold beer in a beautiful landscape, like here in the City of Rocks Idaho, is sooo relaxing.
A lot of riders make fun of me for carrying a small cooler on top of my panniers on trips - until I pull out a cold beer ;-)

City of Rocks, Idaho
The City of Rocks isn't a huge park, but is definitely worth going to if you are in the area. Not surprisingly it is popular with rock climbers. City of Rocks, Idaho

The city of rocks has some interesting rock formations, and also some old graffity from the Oregon Trail.
The road is dirt and gravel but in good condition.

Flat southern Idaho
We headed north again and the scenery in most of southern Idaho is less then impressive.
Ice Cave tourist trap in Idaho
It was a really hot day, again, so we decided that a ice cave was the perfect tourist trap for us.

If you see a Indian riding an dinosaur, you know it's a quality tourist trap ;-)

These lava caves are not far from Craters of the Moon, but are actually from a different volcano.

Indeed, there was ice in the cave and we enjoyed the cool temperature during the guided tour.

At Corral Creek near Ketchum, ID
We rode through the oh-so-chic town of Ketchum and Resort of Sun Valley, and camped for free at a BLM campground near Corral Creek. I joked that after camping for free we could have a $50 breakfast in town, if they let us in with our dirty gear - we didn't try.
No picknic table? No problem!
We just use our panniers and table plate from coyotetrips.com.
