The back side of the hotel
doesn't look as inviting as the front does.
Walking around
town allows for discoveries.

The buildings
in Silver City are mostly in good
condition, many are restored and have solar
panels. |

Leaving town we took the second
road that leads to Silver City Idaho.
It runs from the Idaho side and is easier, but
still has steep and rocky sections. |

At the bottom of the mountain the
road has this sign
(right image), and remember that this is the
"easy" road:
"If you travel beyond this point, you will
be responsible for the cost of search and
rescue" |

My flat tire was a relatively slow
leak, so I decided to just put in a can of "Fix
a Flat" and limp to the next bigger town, which
was Nampa. We made it to Canyon Honda and they were
very nice. They took us to the front of the line
and replaced the inner tube. It turned out that
they did find a tiny hole in the tube, but
couldn't find any cause for it.
While I was waiting I got to have a closer look
at the new Honda Africa Twin. |

We headed further east on some
scenic roads parallel to the interstate. The
roads weren't all that scenic, but still better
than the interstate.
We arrived at the City
of Rocks well before sunset, set up
camp, and went for a walk through the rock
formations.
