Tula de Allende, Hidalgo is
not overrun with tourists as it is a little off
the beaten path. But it can easily be reached by
bus from Mexico City in 1.5 hours. The luxurious
busses are not what one would expect from
Mexico, they have A/C, monitors where they show
movies (like on a plane), and some even have
free WiFi during the drive! All for about$25. |

This Pyramid of the Toltecs
is just amazing.
This sign shows the different building
styles of the pyramids.

Downtown Tula de Allende,
Hidalgo is nice and worth a visit too. |

|
The Pyramid de Cuicuilco
is inside Mexico City. It is round and therefore
not really a pyramid. Even though it is right in
the city not many people come here. |

Xochicalco, near
Cuernavaca, is just stunning. A large area with
pyramids and ruins. |

|
|
|
The best of Xochicalco is
certainly the Quetzalcoatl Pyramid with
it's engraved walls. But also the view from the
pyramid at the surrounding area is beautiful. |

|
|
|
Xochicalco is by far not fully
excavated, who knows what still is waiting
to be discovered.
In a cave below the pyramids is
a observatory, but unfortunately it
was closed at my visit.
