Ruta 3 to Ensenada, Baja, Mexico
We really enjoyed riding Ruta 3 from San Felipe to Ensenada.
Coming into Ensanada this way you come in from a mountain into the upper parts of town, with lots of traffic, and it's really hard to find the right way down back to the coast.

From Ensenada we took Ruta 3, which is also Ruta de Vino, up to Tecate. Ruta de Vino north of Ensenada, Baja, Mexico
Hotel Hacienda Santana, Tecate, Mexico
Our last night in Mexico we spent at Hacienda Santana in Tecate and ate at this great taco stand across the street.

Be aware: The Tecate police is on the lookout for motorcycle rider (or foreigners in general?). Make sure you come to a full stop at every stop sign (which nobody does in Mexico), and don't make a left turn out of hotel Hacienda Santana, even if the guard only lets you out the entrance. Don't ask me why, just trust me, be super correct in Tecate!

Trunp's stupid, unfinished wall in Tecate
The next morning we headed to the border, which is hard to find as they only have tiny signs pointing to it. We marvelled at the unfinished Trump wall and then crossed the border. There was no line at all and it didn't even take 5 minutes.

Los Angeles
We took interstate 5 back to Los Angeles where we stayed with our friends again. We asked them again, not knowing if they had changed their minds due to COVID-19, but they insisted. Staying with friends in L.A.

We took Interstate 5 north from L.A., which at first was quite interesting going over a mountain, but soon after turned into a boring Interstate like all the others. Interstate 5 north of L.A.
SNOW
Just before the Oregon "border" it got really cold and we hit snow near Weed, CA.

We needed to warm up and stopped at a Loves Travel Stop. They had an Arby's and we grabbed a sandwich. Since it was pouring down rain outside and really cold, we stood in a corner, as far away from everybody as possible and ate. The manager, who walked right up to my face, told us we couldn't eat inside due to COVID-19, but we could use the picknicktable outside (in the pouring rain). After a few word exchanges he called the cops on us, but we left before they got there. NEVER stopping at a Loves again, ever.
