In early 2021 I started baking my own bread here
in the USA. I was tired of American "bread" and also
tired of the crazy prices for artisan bread, so I
decided to finally try to bake bread myself. I'll share
the recipe and easy steps on this
page.
For me baking bread is not really a hobby, but rather a
necessity. I grew up with a large variety of good bread
in Germany, which we ate for two meals each day
(breakfast and supper), and I found that this is one of
the things I'm not willing to give up while living in
the USA.

On my first (and so far
only) bike
trip to Ireland, I stayed at a bed
and
breakfast near Slane, and there I met a woman from
Kentucky/USA, on the last day of her vacation in
Ireland. Since she lived and worked in Bonn, we meet
there ... |
