The here listed spare parts, or at
least some of them, are specific to my Honda XRV750 Africa
Twin. I visited several forums, read and also asked about parts that are
prone to fail eventually. These "weak spots" are different on
every type of motorcycle, therefore I highly recommend to inform
yourself about your bike. There are sooo many forums on the web, there
certainly is at least one that specializes in your motorcycle.

Spark plug Euro 3,95 + 2,95
for the cover
My Honda Africa Twin has only two cylinders,
but needs 4 spark plugs. It is quite unlikely that more than one
spark plug fails at the same time, therefore I carry only one as a
spare. A waterproof and unbreakable cover is important, as it doesn't
only protect from water and dirt, but also protects from
accidentally changing the spark plug gap.

Clutch lever + hand break
lever about Euro 15 each
A crash can happen quickly, especially on
gravel roads or off road, and then it can happen that the clutch
lever or break lever snaps off. Even if the bike just tips over a
lever can snap. One can carfully drive on without the front break,
but without the clutch it is much harder. Therefore I highly
recommend to carry a set of replacement levers.

Voltage regulator
about Euro 60, used
At my Honda XRV750 Africa Twin the voltage
regulator is known to fail at some point. Therefore I carry a spare
on trips and hope that I notice the failing of the regulator before
the entire electric burns up because of overvoltage.

Fuel pump about
Euro 90, used
At my Honda XRV750 Africa Twin the fuel pump
is a big weak spot. The pump last with some luck about 30,000 km
until the contacts are burned up and need to be replaced, which is
rather hard to do on the road. When the tank is absolutely full one
can bypass the pump and ride without the pump, but only with a full
tank. Therefore I always carry a spare fuel pump.

Chain master links and spare
fuses I always carry a few master
links for my chain, as it already happened twice to me that the
chain tor on trips. Then one of course also needs tools to remove
the torn chain links.
Fuses are not supposed to blow up without a reason, but because of
the motorcycles vibration it can happen anyway. Therefore I always
carry a set of spare fuses (fuses needed differ from bike to bike).

|
Spare light bulbs
I always carry a set of spare light bulbs for
my motorcycle, 1x head lamp bulb (H4 at my bike), 1x light bulb for
indicator, 1x light bulb for rear/break light. The spare light bulbs
have to be specific to your bike.

Bowden cable repair kit Euro 3,95
The cable on clutch and throttle can break
after some years of use. With this repair kit one has at least a
chance to temporarily repair it.
